High School of Law was established on November 29, 1994 by the order of rector of Kazakh State Law Institute of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan as Faculty of Business Law and Faculty of law enforcement bodies.
Due to the efforts of university professors the enormous work has been done in preparation of scientific staff, publication of textbooks and teaching aids, training of graduate students and practicing lawyers for our country.
In 2005 – Doctor of Laws, Professor Seytenov Kaliolla Kabayevich headed High School of Law.
From December 2010 to the present time – Doctor of Laws, Professor Shapak Unzila Shapakovna, an expert in theory and history of state and law is in the head of High School of Law.
July, 13 2010 – by the order of rector Faculty of Business Law and Faculty of law enforcement bodies was renamed as High School of national law.
In 2014 by the order of rector High School of national law was renamed as High School of Law as a result of restructuring of KAZGUU University and join of High School of International Law and International Relations and High School of national law.
High School of Law prepares students in following specialties: 5B030100 “Jurisprudence”, 5B030200 “International law” 5B030300 “Law enforcement”.
The following departments represent High School of Law:
– Department of state and legal disciplines;
– Department of civil and civil procedural law;
– Department of criminal and penitentiary law and criminology;
– Department of criminal procedural law and criminology;
– Department of international law and international relations.
Graduates of High School have made a significant contribution to state and legal construction, work of judiciary and judicial system, development of advocacy and notaries, as well as legal education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Many of graduates occupy important government posts.
Today High School of Law remains to be one of Kazakhstan the largest centers of legal science and qualified specialists in law and it combines the best traditions of classical law education and modern teaching technologies.
High School of Law is a leader in the rankings of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
